Job summary

Ambitions Personnel is seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join a busy manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, modification and improvement of tooling, ensuring all work is completed accurately, safely and to the required quality standards.

The role involves fault finding, diagnosing tooling issues, and working from CAD drawings and technical specifications. You will use Tool Room machinery, uphold Lean and 5S+ standards, and collaborate with Production,

Qualifications

• Experience as Toolmaker in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Ability to read CAD/engineering drawings.
• Experience in tool repair, maintenance and modification.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Continuous Improvement would be advantageous.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fault finding, repairs, corrections and modifications to tooling.
• Diagnose tooling issues and complete repairs to minimise downtime.
• Manufacture, repair and modify tooling and associated components.
• Read CAD drawings and engineering specifications to complete tooling work accurately.
• Operate Tool Room machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
• Ensure all tooling meets quality standards and specifications.
• Carry out preventative and reactive tooling maintenance.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to resolve tooling issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and work carried out.
• Maintain housekeeping in the Tool Room.
• Follow Lean Manufacturing and 5S+ standards and standardized methods.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policies.
