Candour Talent Ltd is recruiting for a Toolmaker (Injection Moulding) to join our client based in Tredegar. This permanent, full-time role requires hands-on tooling manufacture, maintenance and continuous improvement within a busy shop floor environment.

You will create, modify and repair injection mould tools, conduct preventative maintenance, and support tooling trials and NPI activities. Strong teamwork and adherence to HSE standards are essential.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a toolmaker or similar.
  • Experience in injection moulding and/or automotive manufacturing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with good IT proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture, assemble, modify, and repair injection mould tools to drawings, specs and tolerances.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on mould tools to ensure reliability and tool life.
  • Diagnose tooling issues affecting quality, cycle time or scrap and implement corrective actions.
  • Support tool trials, set-ups, validation and NPI activities with Engineering and Production.
  • Maintain tooling records, maintenance logs and modification histories.
  • Identify and address tooling-related risks impacting safety, quality, delivery or cost.

Candour Talent are currently recruiting for a Toolmaker (Injection Moulding) to join our client based in Tredegar.



  • Location: Tredegar

  • Employment Type: Permanent/Full Time

  • Working Hours: Mon-Thurs 7-3.45, Fri 7-11

  • Salary: Negotiable DOE


An excellent opportunity for a skilled Toolmaker with experience in Injection Moulding with a driven and positive attitude to join a technical team in a busy and fast paced shop floor environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture, maintenance, repair, and improvement of injection mould tools used in production machinery. You will also have a continuous improvement mindset, strive for the highest quality and accuracy standards, and always adhere to H&S protocols.


The Role


  • Manufacture, assemble, modify, and repair injection mould tools to defined drawings, specifications, and tolerances.

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on mould tools to ensure reliability, consistency, and extended tool life.

  • Diagnose tooling issues affecting quality, cycle time, or scrap and implement effective corrective actions.

  • Support tool trials, set‑ups, validation, and NPI activities in conjunction with Engineering and Production.

  • Maintain accurate tooling records, including maintenance logs, tooling history, and modification records.

  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for tooling‑related non‑conformities or customer complaints.

  • Identify and elevate promptly tooling‑related risks that could impact safety, quality, delivery, or cost.

  • Work in compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

  • Use safe systems of work, including manual handling controls and machine safety requirements.

  • Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards within the toolroom.

  • Work collaboratively with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to support manufacturing operations.

  • Support supplier interaction and external toolmakers when required.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to improve tooling reliability, cycle time, and quality.

  • Assist in updating tooling work instructions, maintenance standards, and technical documentation


The Ideal Candidate


  • Previous experience as a toolmaker or similar.

  • Previous toolmaking experience in an injection moulding and/or automotive manufacturing environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with good IT proficiency.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a team.

  • Self‑motivated and able to use own initiative.
