Job summary

Sierra 57 Consult is seeking an experienced Injection Mould Toolmaker in the Crawley area to join an established tooling team and support a busy moulding facility.

You will manufacture, service and repair injection mould tools, read engineering drawings and operate standard toolroom machines with precision. The role demands a pragmatic problem-solver with strong communication skills and a commitment to quality.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge and experience of working on injection mould tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience with standard toolroom machinery such as surface grinder, cylindrical grinder, manual lathes and mills.
• CAD CAM knowledge such as Visi, AutoCAD and SolidWorks would be advantageous.
• Spark/wire erosion knowledge would be beneficial but not essential.
• CMM inspection knowledge would be beneficial but not essential.
• Good communication skills.
• Thoughtful and pragmatic approach to problem/breakdown situations.

Responsibilities

• Machining to a high standard on a range of toolroom machines.
• Manufacture of full mould tooling and modular systems in steels and alloys to a high standard.
• Assembly and fitting of tooling elements.
• Modifications and refurbishment of existing mould tooling.
• Servicing and repairs of mould tooling.
• Manufacture of jigs & fixtures to support the mould shop.
• Inspection of own work to a high standard.
• Accountable for quality of work produced.

Overview:Working alongside our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for an experienced Injection Moulding Toolmaker to support continued business growth.

Remit:

• This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Injection Mould Toolmaker to work within an established toolroom with manufacturing, servicing, repair and modification capabilities supporting the extensive production moulding facility.
• As a Toolmaker you will be responsible for the manufacture, maintenance, service and repair of injection mould tools from base components using handheld tools and machines as required.
• The successful candidate should have extensive mould tool experience with the ability to use conventional toolroom machinery.

Role:
