Job summary

Prime Appointments Ltd is seeking an experienced Toolmaker in the Tendring area of the United Kingdom. This on-site role focuses on repairing, modifying, and manufacturing injection mould tools, with a clear pathway to advanced Toolmaking and management responsibilities as you grow.

Ideal candidates will have proven toolmaking experience, hands-on skills with mills, lathes, grinders, and familiarity with SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Training is provided for more advanced tooling and CNC workflows.

Qualifications

• Proven toolmaking experience, ideally within injection mould tooling.
• Experience with manual milling, turning and grinding.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
• Wire erosion and CNC milling experience would be advantageous, training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Repair and modify injection mould tools.
• Manufacture new mould tools to specification.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Carry out bench fitting and finishing work.
• Operate manual mills, lathes, surface grinders and spark eroders.
• Support CNC milling operations.
• Work with Mazak/Mazatrol and Bridgeport/Heidenhain systems.
• Support projects and take on increasing responsibility as you progress.

Salary: GBP40000 - GBP45000 per annum + depending on experience

Are you an experienced Toolmaker looking for the opportunity to take the next step in your career?

We’re looking for a skilled Toolmaker to join a growing engineering business. This is a hands-on role working on the manufacture, repair and modification of injection mould tools, with a clear pathway to progress into a Toolmaking & Management position as you develop.

The Role:

• Repair and modify injection mould tools
• Manufacture new mould tools to specification
• Read and interpret engineering drawings
