Pickering Interfaces Ltd, based in the Tendring area, is seeking a skilled Toolmaker to repair, modify and manufacture injection mould tools within a dedicated workshop. You will read technical drawings and apply bench skills to deliver precise, high-quality tools using manual and CNC machinery.

Qualifications

• Essential: Proven track record in Toolmaking with strong bench work skills.
• Essential: Solid injection mould toolmaking experience and ability to read technical drawings.
• Essential: CAD experience, SolidWorks/AutoCAD; experience with manual machines and spark eroders.

Responsibilities

• Undertake repair and modification of injection mould tools.
• Manufacture new mould tools to specification.
• Read and interpret technical engineering drawings accurately.
• Operate manual machines including mills, lathes and surface grinders.
• Operate spark eroders; support CNC milling using Mazak Mazatrol/Bridgeport Heidenhain systems.
• Contribute to project management activities in support of business growth.

Working with a range of manual and CNC machinery - including Mills, Lathes, Surface Grinders, Spark Eroders and Wire Eroders - the role requires the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and apply strong bench work skills to deliver accurate, high-quality results.The position sits within a general toolmaking and engineering environment and supports the day-to-day operational needs of the business. Over time, the role is expected to develop to include an element of project and team management responsibility.CAD skills are required, with SolidWorks and AutoCAD being the preferred platforms.
