Job summary

A5 Recruitment is recruiting for a Toolmaker / Fitter – Aerospace & Nuclear in Atherton, Greater Manchester. Based at a bespoke engineering facility, you will manufacture and assemble jigs and fixtures for aerospace and nuclear sectors.

The permanent role offers day shifts, strong career development, and a benefits package. You must have the right to work in the UK and be familiar with toolroom machinery and precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• Legal right to work in the UK.
• Experience with toolroom machinery and drawings.
• Competent with manual and digital measuring instruments.
• Excellent attention to detail; aerospace exp beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and assemble jigs and fixtures.
• Work from engineering drawings and setup instructions.
• Inspect and measure work with micrometers, calipers, and similar tools.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation and safety in the toolroom.
• Occasional offsite work in the UK and overseas.

Toolmaker / Fitter – Aerospace & Nuclear

Atherton, Greater Manchester | £18.00 per hour | Full-time

Job Type: Permanent (two vacancies)

Hours

Day shift: Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:00 | Friday 07:30 – 12:30

The Role

Based at a bespoke engineering facility in Atherton, you’ll be responsible for the manufacture and assembly of Jigs & Fixtures for the Aerospace and Nuclear industries.

Main Duties

• Manufacture and assembly of jigs and fixtures
• Working from engineering drawings and setup instructions
• Inspecting and measuring work using micrometers, calipers and other precision instruments
• Maintaining cleanliness, organisation and safety within the toolroom
• Occasional offsite work, both in the UK and overseas

What We’re Looking For

• You must have the legal right to work in the UK
• Familiar with toolroom machinery with a good understanding of engineering drawings
• Competent with manual and digital measuring instruments
• Assembly/fitting skills with good attention to detail (desirable)
• Aerospace experience beneficial but not essential
• All roles require pre-employment security screening checks, including referencing
