Job summary

Rolls-Royce Derby is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the TBF Manufacturing Engineering Tooling and Geometry team. You will design, develop and validate tooling and geometry solutions to support NPI and rate increases, collaborating with Design Engineering to optimise manufacturability.

You will lead tooling procurement, qualification, and validation on the shop floor, ensuring compliance with PPAP/APQP, quality, cost and delivery targets.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline; professional accreditation preferred.
• Technical proficiency in manufacturing method creation and control, manufacturing geometry and CNC/fixturing technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and validation of product-specific tooling and geometry solutions to support New Product Introduction and rate increases.
• Support design for manufacture (DFM) reviews, collaborating with Design teams to ensure manufacturability and optimal geometry throughout the product lifecycle.
• Deliver Quality, Cost, and Delivery improvements through tooling and geometry optimisation, supporting yield and rate initiatives.
• Provide technical support to operations, ensuring robust tooling validation on the shop floor.
• Establish and maintain tooling and fixturing standards complying with Rolls-Royce and regulatory requirements.
• Manage tooling procurement and lifecycle activities including supplier engagement and capital cost schemes.
