Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Bristol is seeking a Tool Programmer/Developer to support tooling improvements, development and calibration in a fast-paced production environment. You will help optimise layout, tooling fixtures and production workflows to boost efficiency and space utilisation.

The role requires an engineering apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, and proven tooling control experience in aerospace or related sectors.

Qualifications

  • Completed a recognised Engineering apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in tooling control, preferably in aerospace, automotive or precision engineering.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD concepts.
  • Hands-on, cross-functional collaborator in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve tooling and fixtures to support production efficiency, quality and safety.
  • Support tooling concepts, development and validation for new product introductions.
  • Oversee calibration control to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards relevant to the facility.
  • Track and manage Government-owned assets and tooling used within the facility.

Job description

As a Tool Programmer/Developer, you will support layout improvements within the production environment to enhance workflow, efficiency, and space utilisation.

Your technical focus
  • As a Tooling Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving tooling and fixtures to support production efficiency, quality and safety
  • Support new product introduction with tooling concepts, development and validation
  • Oversee calibration control to ensure compliance
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety standards
  • Track and manage Government owned assets and tooling used within the facility
Skills & experience
  • These principles form the behaviours that guide us and are an essential component of our assessment process
  • If required, full instructions for the next steps will be provided
  • An understanding of CAD and/or the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • You’ll need a completed a recognised Engineering apprenticeship and hold a relevant NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • You’ll need proven experience in tooling control, preferably within the aerospace, automotive or precision engineering environments
  • Hands-on approach and ability to work cross-functionally in fast paced environments
