Tooling Engineer

Job summary

ABP Food Group in Ellesmere, United Kingdom, is seeking an engineering support role to assist the tooling engineer with preventive maintenance on tools and equipment. You will carry out morning tests on the tooling inside Retail to confirm it is ready for production and support the Engineering department as required.

You will carry out prestart checks, use the Pre Planned Maintenance system, and ensure tooling and services meet site H&S and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the tooling engineer with preventive maintenance (PPM) on tools and equipment
• Carry out morning tests on the tooling inside Retail to confirm readiness for production
• Assist with other tasks around the Engineering department as required
• Utilise the company’s Pre Planned Maintenance system to ensure all tooling and services are carried out
• Carry out prestart checks and tests on the equipment prior to lines starting
• Comply with site H&S and technical requirements around food safety
• Assist with other tasks around the engineering department as required
• Assist with 5S around the workshop/department to maintain required standard
• Assist (as required) with breakdowns to tooling including out of hours repair
• Liaise/communicate with colleagues and departments and attend meetings where required
• Ensure our products meet our customer requirements
• Carry out any other duties that may be reasonably requested by your line manager
• The candidate will enjoy challenging, problem-solving roles and be ideally suited to a fast-paced environment
• Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task
• Be able to take direction and follow instruction
• 6am - 2.30pm weekdays (Flexibility required)
