Job summary

Sartorius AG in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, is seeking a Tool Room Engineer to support Production and Mould Shop. You will operate CNC Mills/Manual Lathes, Grinders and other tool room machinery to produce and repair tooling for production.

On site, you will join a small team and help implement preventative maintenance aligned with ISO 13485 and ISO 9001, ensuring quality and compliance across manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in manufacturing or engineering workshop/mould shop/tool room environment.
• Machining experience capable of high tolerance work.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• CNC experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well within a team as well individually.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Good IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain injection mould tooling on a daily basis.
• Manufacture and fit quality parts for production jigs, fixtures and tooling.
• Inspect parts visually or using measuring tools.
• Perform tool, jig and fixtures repair and maintenance – preventative and responsive.
• Ensure quality and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Develop and follow preventative maintenance schedules aligned with ISO13485.
• Support Tool Room Manager and daily production team as required.
• Follow quality system requirements and inform Quality team of quality issues.
• Maintain systems to ensure ISO 9001, 13485 and IVD regulatory compliance with good documentation practices.

Job description

We are looking for a Tool Room Engineer to join the Tool Room department at Sartorius. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to all areas of Production and Mould Shop, set up and operate equipment including CNC Mills/Manual Lathes, Grinders and general tool room machining equipment.

The team consists of 4 professionals including 1 apprentice, and we arelooking forward to shaping the future with you.

This position is available full-time on a permanent basis and based on site in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire. The working hours are Monday to Thursday 7.30 – 16.30 and Friday 7.30 – 12.30.

Our site in Stonehouse site is a manufacturer of plastic components and single – use products, such as lab scale bioreactors and filtration.

• On a daily basis you will be maintaining injection mould tooling
• You willmanufacture and fit quality parts for production jigs, fixtures and tooling
• You will inspect parts visually or using appropriate measuring tools
• You will perform applicable tool, jig and fixtures repair and maintenance – both preventative and responsive
• You will ensure the quality of work is within the required standards and maintain a clean and safe working environment
• You will develop and work with preventative maintenance schedule compliant with ISO13485
• You will support the Tool Room Manager and daily production team as required
• You will follow the requirements of the quality system and inform the Quality team in regards to any quality related issues
• You would maintain systems to ensure compliance to ISO 9001, 13485 and IVD regulations including good documentation practices
