Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking an experienced Tool Maker/Fitter for a permanent role in Wetherby. The successful candidate will operate in a tool room within an engineering/manufacturing environment, reading complex drawings and using Bridgeport XYZ axis milling machines, with strong milling, grinding and polishing skills.

The position offers 37 hours per week (Mon-Thu 7:30-5:15) with overtime paid at enhanced rates; salary £33k-£40k DOE depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experienced tool room operative within the engineering sector.
• Excellent Manual Milling skills.
• TIG Welding knowledge would be beneficial.
• Grinding & Polishing experience.
• Capable of reading complex engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of Bridgeport XYZ Axis Milling Machine would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of providing accuracy and quality.
• Ability to work to both independently and well within a team.
• Adhering to all Quality and H&S Standards.
• Manual Turning and Boring experience would be beneficial.
• Experience machining a wide range of materials including heavy structural steels, aluminium, brass and bronze.
• Experience with ISO9001:2015.
• Ability to visually inspect work.
• C/B FLT License would be beneficial.

Tool Maker/Fitter

Perm Role, £33k-£40k pa DOE, Days, 37hrs per week, Mon-Thurs, Overtime

WETHERBY

I am looking for an experienced Tool Maker/Fitter, with good knowledge of Conventional Engineering techniques, to work for an Engineering/Manufacturing company based in Wetherby. The business is commutable from York, Leeds or Harrogate and this is a great opportunity to join a busy and growing company.

Required Experience:

• Experienced tool room operative within the engineering sector
• Excellent Manual Milling skills
• TIG Welding knowledge would be beneficial
• Grinding & Polishing experience
• Capable of reading complex engineering drawings
• Knowledge of Bridgeport XYZ Axis Milling Machine would be advantageous
• Strong understanding of providing accuracy and quality
• Ability to work to both independently and well within a team
• Adhering to all Quality and H&S Standards

Other desired skills required include:

• Manual Turning and Boring experience would be beneficial
• Experience in Machining a wide range of specialist materials including Heavy Flame cut Structural Steels, High tensile steel, Aluminium, Brass, Bronze and Acetal
• Experience of working to ISO9001:2015
• Ability to visually inspect work
• C/B FLT License would be beneficial

The core working hours for this role are 37hrs per week, 7.30am-5.15pm from Monday to Thursday. Overtime is always available and is paid at Time + 1/3 on weekdays and Time + ½ on Saturdays. The starting salary for the role is experience dependant, between £33k and £40k. This role is advertised as Permanent from day one.
