Job summary

Interaction - Leeds is seeking an experienced Tool Maker/Fitter in the Wetherby area. The role requires strong knowledge of conventional engineering techniques and the ability to read complex drawings. Salary ranges from £33,000 to £40,000 per annum DOE, with a 37-hour week, and overtime available.

The role is permanent from day one, with a Monday to Thursday pattern (7:30am–5:15pm) and opportunities for overtime. The team is based in Wetherby, commutable from York, Leeds or Harrogate.

Qualifications

• Experienced tool room operative within the engineering sector.
• Excellent manual milling skills and ability to read complex engineering drawings.
• Experience with grinding & polishing and TIG welding beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Tool making and fitting to engineering specs.
• Operate manual and Bridgeport milling machinery with accuracy.
• Inspect finished work to meet quality and H&S standards.
• Adhere to ISO9001:2015 quality systems and work both independently and in a team.

Tool Maker/Fitter

Perm Role, £33k-£40k pa DOE, Days, 37hrs per week, Mon-Thurs, Overtime

WETHERBY

I am looking for an experienced Tool Maker/Fitter, with good knowledge of Conventional Engineering techniques, to work for an Engineering/Manufacturing company based in Wetherby. The business is commutable from York, Leeds or Harrogate and this is a great opportunity to join a busy and growing company.

Required Experience:

• Experienced tool room operative within the engineering sector
• Excellent Manual Milling skills
• TIG Welding knowledge would be beneficial
• Grinding & Polishing experience
• Capable of reading complex engineering drawings
• Knowledge of Bridgeport XYZ Axis Milling Machine would be advantageous
• Strong understanding of providing accuracy and quality
• Ability to work to both independently and well within a team
• Adhering to all Quality and H&S Standards

Other desired skills required include:

• Manual Turning and Boring experience would be beneficial
• Experience in Machining a wide range of specialist materials including Heavy Flame cut Structural Steels, High tensile steel, Aluminium, Brass, Bronze and Acetal
• Experience of working to ISO9001:2015
• Ability to visually inspect work
• C/B FLT License would be beneficial

The core working hours for this role are 37hrs per week, 7.30am-5.15pm from Monday to Thursday. Overtime is always available and is paid at Time + 1/3 on weekdays and Time + ½ on Saturdays.

The starting salary for the role is experience dependant, between £33k and £40k. This role is advertised as Permanent from day one.
