Job summary

Tool Maker at M-Tec Engineering Solutions in the Staffordshire facility is responsible for ensuring safe use of handling equipment, inspecting lifting gear, and maintaining PM schedules on IMM tooling. Responsibilities

• Ensure safe use of handling equipment: crane / lifting gear, ensure load is within SWL of handling gear
• Inspect lifting gear before use: quarantine & report any non conformaties with eyebolts or lifting chains
• Maintenance of PM schedule on IMM tooling + downstream identified tooling
• Arrange / support shift cover with opposite tooling engineers during holiday periods
• Support business needs of extra shifts / w/end work during periods of high production demand
• Upkeep of tool tag system
• Ensure tooling complies with company standards and will fit local machinery
• Confirm feasibility of engineering changes related to imm tooling both internal & external where necessary
• Attend daily review of issues between imm tech's & tooling mgr, input to identification of root cause and subsequent proposals to close out tooling related pfu's
• Support trials onsite and off site as needs arise
• Identify & lead opportunities for efficiency improvements: tool dis-assembly / re-assembly sequence
• Raise & follow up PFU's internal & external using central database where possible
• Health & safety: maintain safe working practices, elevate any non conformities, near misses
