Job summary

CV Technical in East Sussex is seeking an experienced Press & Mould Tool Maker to join our established manufacturing operation. You will manufacture, assemble and modify press tools, moulds and related tooling to tight tolerances using conventional and CNC machine tools.

The role demands excellent attention to detail, the ability to read engineering drawings, diagnose tooling issues and work both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a toolmaking or precision engineering environment.
• Strong practical experience with press and/or mould tooling.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience machining and fitting components to close tolerances.
• Good knowledge of conventional machining techniques.
• Experience with CNC machinery would be advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• A professional, reliable and hands-on approach.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
• Experience with injection mould tooling, press tooling, surface grinding, wire/EDM or CNC machining would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Machining, fitting, grinding, milling, turning and drilling components to tight tolerances.

• Inspecting components using precision measuring equipment.
• Diagnosing tooling problems and implementing effective solutions.
• Working closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime.
• Ensuring tooling is manufactured and maintained to the required quality standards.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and well‑organised workshop.

Up to £47,000 per annum + Enhanced Pension + Private Medical Care

We are looking for an experienced Press & Mould Tool Maker to join our established manufacturing business in East Sussex.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and practical toolmaker who takes pride in producing high-quality tooling and enjoys working on varied and technically challenging projects.

You will play a key role in the manufacture, maintenance, repair and modification of press tools, moulds and associated tooling, working to high standards of accuracy and quality.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

About You
