Job summary

Jewson, part of Stark UK, is recruiting a Tool Hire Assistant for our Winchester branch. This role involves delivering and collecting customer orders, ensuring safety and accuracy, and providing excellent service with full training provided. A full UK driving licence is essential to operate a 3.5 tonne van and support local customers.

You’ll join a supportive team, build product knowledge, and play a key role in delivering reliable, high‑quality service to customers in the Winchester area.

Qualifications

• No experience required; full training provided.
• Demonstrates enthusiasm and desire to work in a merchant environment.
• Strong customer-facing attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day tool hire activities, deploying resources to ensure safe operations.
• Lead by example in developing relationships through regular customer interaction and cross selling.
• Deliver and collect customer orders in a timely and accurate manner with proper loading and security.
• Support branch colleagues in building knowledge of tool hire products.
• Carry out pre-delivery checks to ensure tools are clean, safe and operational.
• Complete all delivery paperwork and keep records up to date.
• Inspect, test and carry out basic repairs on tools and small plant.
