Job summary

Independent Builders Merchant Group is seeking a hands-on driver/yard operative in Taunton for a full-time role. You will handle daily vehicle checks, load and tip materials, and ensure safe deliveries to customers while adhering to road traffic and health & safety regulations.

The role requires reliability, punctuality, and a team-oriented attitude to support a friendly yard environment with a focus on safe practices and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Yard and plant experience preferred.
• Tipper experience (7.5) is advantageous.
• Ability to perform daily vehicle checks and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
• Loading and tipping materials safely and legally.
• Providing excellent customer service on every delivery.
• Following all Road Traffic and Health & Safety regulations.
• Maintaining a reliable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude.
• Contributing to a friendly and supportive team environment.

Location: Taunton
Hours: Full Time

Week 1: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:30pm
Week 2: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:30pm + Saturday, 8:00am - 12:00pm
