Job summary

Vincere is seeking a hands-on Yard Operative to join a busy timber yard. The role involves moving timber through the yard, drying process and into production, with full training provided.

You will work outdoors, perform physical tasks, and be part of a small team focused on efficiency and safety. Prior timber experience isn’t required, and a Counterbalance Forklift licence is helpful but not essential.

Qualifications

• No timber yard experience required.
• Comfortable working outdoors and performing physical tasks.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to follow instructions.
• Safety-conscious and a good team player.
• Keen to learn and develop new skills.

Responsibilities

• Move timber and board packs around the yard and into production.
• Receive and unload timber deliveries.
• Stack and store timber safely and correctly.
• Check and grade boards for defects.
• Edge boards to the required specification.
• Keep packs organised, labelled and in the right locations.
• Load and unload timber from kilns.
• Move dried timber into storage or production.
• Keep the yard clean, tidy and organised.
• Carry out daily equipment checks and follow health and safety procedures.
