Job summary

Lawsons is seeking an Apprentice to join their bespoke manufacturing team. You will work alongside master craftspeople, developing manufacturing, wood machining and joinery skills.

The role offers hands-on training across timber products and interpretation of working drawings, with delivery to deadlines. Training is provided through WEBS Training with on-the-job rotations at various sites.

Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent in English (Grade C/4) - desirable.
• GCSE or equivalent in Maths (Grade C/4) - desirable.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to make all types of bespoke timber products, including gates and fencing.
• Work to the highest standards of quality and craftmanship.
• Deliver items to meet timescales and project deadlines.
• Learn how to use woodworking machines, power tools, and hand tools safely and comply with Health & Safety regulations.
• Learn how to read and accurately interpret working drawings.
• Maintain a clean workspace and manage general labouring duties.
• Gain organisational skills for managing tasks and inventory.
• Manage and organise stock effectively.
• Collaborate within a team environment.
• Work independently, using initiative to solve challenges.
