Job summary

Fawkes & Reece Group in Manchester is seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to support a busy timber frame residential development. You will assist with day-to-day site management, coordinate subcontractors, monitor workmanship, and help ensure health and safety standards.

The role requires timber frame experience, valid SMSTS and First Aid at Work, and a CSCS card. You will work closely with the Site Manager to maintain programme delivery and high-quality build standards on a busy site.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Assistant Site Manager in residential housebuilding.
• Timber frame construction experience is essential.
• SMSTS certificate.
• First Aid at Work certificate.
• CSCS card appropriate to the role.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work on a busy site with subcontractors.
• Professional references will be required.
• Start date anticipated within the next month.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Site Manager with day-to-day site operations.
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades and site activities to ensure works progress in line with the programme.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure build quality meets required standards.
• Support the management and coordination of timber frame construction and subsequent build stages.
• Carry out regular site inspections and health and safety checks.
• Ensure site personnel and subcontractors comply with health and safety procedures.
• Assist with toolbox talks, site records, progress reports and construction documentation.
• Identify and report any issues affecting programme, quality or site safety.
• Help maintain a clean, organised and well-managed site.
• Work closely with the Site Manager, Contracts Manager and subcontractors to ensure the successful delivery of the development.
• Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager within residential housebuilding.
• Timber frame construction experience is essential.
• Valid SMSTS certificate and First Aid at Work.
• CSCS card appropriate to the role.
• Good understanding of residential construction methods, health and safety and quality control.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a busy site team.
• Professional references will be required.
• Start date anticipated within the next month.
• Suitable for an experienced Assistant Site Manager with a strong housebuilding background.
