Job summary

A259 Recruitment is seeking a specialist TIG welder for our engineering client's Lancing facility to perform precision TIG welding on tubular stainless and aluminium materials and deliver high-quality finishes.

The role begins with a 12-week contract, 40-hour weeks (Mon–Thu 8:00–17:00, Fri 8:00–14:00) with overtime paid time-and-a-half after 40 hours; potential permanent placement based on trial performance.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to produce quality TIG welds on tubular material.
• Experience welding stainless or aluminium tubes.
• Able to pass in-house welding test.

Responsibilities

• Weld tubular material using TIG (GTAW) process on 1.5–3 mm walls.
• Produce high-finish welds for architectural/tubular applications.
• Lead welding team on higher £18 rate with additional responsibilities.

Overview

Our engineering client is looking for a specialist TIG welder to work in their Lancing manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Weld tubular material using the TIG welding process (GTAW) with stainless tube wall thicknesses ranging from 1.5 to 3mm.
• Produce high‑finish welds for architectural applications.
• Act as a welding team leader/supervisor for the higher £18 rate, taking on additional responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate ability to produce quality TIG welds on tubular material in an in‑house welding test.
• Experience with stainless or aluminium TIG welding on tubular material.

Contract & Hours

• Initial 12‑week period, potentially becoming permanent after a successful trial.
• Standard working week: 40hours – Monday‑Thursday 8a.m.‑5p.m., Friday 8a.m.‑2p.m.
• Lunch break 1‑2p.m.; ¼hour breaks morning and afternoon.
• Overtime after 40hrs paid at time‑and‑half.

Compensation

Salary dependent on results from an in‑house welding test and experience. The higher £18 rate requires the role of welding team leader/supervisor.
