Job summary

Response Personnel Ltd. is recruiting TIG Welders for an aerospace manufacturer in Dunstable. The role involves producing ducting components from stainless steel, titanium and Inconel, with TIG welding and handling a turntable and glove box welding chamber.

The position offers a four-day week and competitive salary. Day shift options are 6.00am–3.45pm or 7.00am–4.45pm, with a late shift 3:45–1:30am and overtime generally available.

Qualifications

• TIG welding experience in aerospace ducting environments.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Experience with ducting components and aerospace materials.

Responsibilities

• Produce ducting components from metals including stainless steel Titanium and Inconel.
• Operate TIG welding equipment and turntable; use foot pedal controls.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure correct specs.
• Maintain approvals and welding procedure stamps where required.
• Work within aerospace standards and quality expectations.

£38,305 Salary, Day Shift, Monday to Thursday

Late Shift Mon - Thursday 3:45 - 1:30am £51k (inclusive of shift premium)

Response Personnel is recruiting Welders / TIG Welders / TIG Welder on behalf of a leading aerospace manufacturer based in Dunstable.

Shift Pattern & Hours

• Four day week: Monday to Thursday
• Day shift: 6.00am - 3.45pm or 7.00am - 4.45pm
• Contracted hours: 37 hours, Monday to Thursday
• Late Shift 3:45 - 1:30am Mon - Thursday
• Overtime generally available Friday and Saturday, paid at x1.5

The Role

• Production of ducting components using various metals including stainless steel, Titanium and Inconel
• TIG welding experience
• Ability to operate a turntable controlled with a foot pedal, and to operate a welding chamber (Glove Box)
• Ability to obtain and maintain approval stamps
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Previous experience within the Aerospace industry is desirable

Screening Questions

• Do you have experience working with ducting?
• Can you read and understand engineering drawings, and are you comfortable working with hand tools (snips, hammers, abrasive pads, etc.)?
• Materials include - Inconel, Stainless Steel and Titanium before?
• Recent TIG welding experience, and have you TIG welded Stainless Steel, Titanium and/or nickel alloy tubes with around a 0.71mm wall thickness and 6.35mm diameter?
• Are you comfortable using a foot controller while TIG welding?
• Do you have Aerospace Experience?
• Have you used a turntable when TIG welding before?
• Have you previously been formally qualified to weld in different positions, ideally 5F and 6G?
