Job summary

Merseyside Police is advertising an Intelligence Development Officer (IDO) Grade D vacancy to join the Operational Intelligence Unit in the Force Intelligence Bureau. This permanent role is based at OCC Speke with a salary of £30,333–£32,613 plus 15.82% Equalisation Allowance.

You will develop high‑risk intelligence on OCGs, firearms, drugs, child abuse, exploitation and other threats. You’ll work with analysts, support 24/7 operations, and may sworn warrants to disrupt serious criminals.

Responsibilities

• Develop high‑risk intelligence on OCGs, firearms, drugs and exploitation.
• Fill intelligence gaps to support decisive action by operational officers.
• Collaborate with analysts to identify top threats and improve knowledge of Serious & Organized Crime.
• Be part of FIB's 24/7 function for high risk 'crimes in action' responses.
• Swear warrants and seize property as part of disrupting OCGs and high‑risk criminals.
