Job summary

Bright Horizons Romsey Day Nursery and Preschool is seeking a Third in Charge to lead a team in delivering outstanding early years care and education at our Romsey nursery.

In collaboration with the Nursery Manager, you’ll oversee safeguarding, staff development, and partnerships with parents, ensuring a safe, high-performing environment with strong occupancy and compliance. DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
• Experience in an Early Years setting with leadership/mentoring responsibilities.
• Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
• Experience with food preparation and relevant training linked to food management.
• Ability to build trust and strong relationships with colleagues and parents.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead when required and manage safeguarding policies.
• Support succession planning and delivery of training and coaching for colleagues.
• Develop partnerships with parents, carers and professionals to meet each child’s needs.
• Contribute to a positive, safe working environment and staff wellbeing.
• Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers to support occupancy growth.
• Ensure commercial success by monitoring expenditure and budget KPIs.
• Engage with Local Authority to understand local provisions supporting practice.
