Job summary

CV Technical Limited seeks an experienced Thermoforming Tool Setter to join our Haydock production team. You will set tooling, perform changeovers, and ensure safe, efficient operation meeting targets and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years on Form Cut Stack thermoforming machinery with APET/RPET/PP plastics, and strong troubleshooting and teamwork skills. Engineering qualification or time-served background preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience setting tooling on Form Cut Stack (FCS) thermoforming machinery.
• Experience with APET, RPET and PP plastics.
• Strong knowledge of thermoforming processes and equipment.
• Experience carrying out tooling setups and changeovers.
• Ability to troubleshoot process faults and rectify issues.
• Understanding of quality standards and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set tooling and complete product changeovers within targets.
• Operate thermoforming machinery (WM, Kiefel, Sencorp).
• Support tooling inspections and routine maintenance.
• Identify and resolve production and machine-related issues.
• Troubleshoot faults and implement corrective actions.
• Assist commissioning of new tooling and optimise line speeds.
• Conduct finished-product inspections to meet specs.
• Assist investigations into customer complaints and root causes.
• Complete setup records and quality documentation.
• Prepare tooling for upcoming production runs.
• Manage waste and support granulators and case-handling equipment.
• Follow BRCGS, GMP, HACCP and Health & Safety requirements.
• Monitor KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Provide training to production operators.
• Support supervisors and deputise when needed.
• Communicate with maintenance/tooling/production to minimise downtime.
