Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains is offering a 12-month placement in the Thermofluids group, focused on the Performance Development Engineer role. You will generate ideas to improve Power Unit performance and manage test programmes on Single Cylinder and V6 dynos, with results analysis and reporting to the business.

You will interact with Simulation, Product Engineering, Test, Engine Build and Programme Management to deliver top class outcomes within tight timeframes, and may rotate to

Qualifications

• Curious, tenacious and driven individual with a hunger to work in a fast-paced environment.
• On track to achieve a 2.1 degree or above in Mechanical/Automotive/Mechatronics/Motorsport or related field.
• Strong academic background in Maths/Science for A-Levels or equivalent.
• Interest and passion for internal combustion and high-performance engineering.

Responsibilities

• Generate and develop Power Unit performance ideas to improve on-circuit performance.
• Plan and run test programmes on single cylinder and V6 dynos; analyse results.
• Report learning and conclusions to the business; collaborate with Simulation, Product Engineering, Test, Engine Build and Programme Management.
