Job description

We are looking for four Therapy Support Workers to work across Cambridgeshire within our Prevention and Early Intervention services. The aim of the service is to identify, prevent, reduce and delay the need for both short- and long-term care and support. It comprises of the Adult Early Help team, Reablement, Technology Enabled Care, Sensory Services and Occupational Therapy.

These new roles will be focusing on providing therapy support to people receiving Reablement, to increase their independence, improve their well-being and decrease their long-term care and support needs.

These are hybrid posts. Working across the county of Cambridgeshire, with the ability to use multiple office bases including March, Ely, Huntingdon, St Ives and Cambridge, and the ability to work from home for the completion of documentation and non-clinical tasks.

The roles are offered on a full-time basis (37 hours per week) as a 12 month fixed term opportunity.

Interviews are planned for the week beginning 09/06/25.

What will you be doing?

You will be supported by a registered occupational therapist to manage your own caseload of service users that have been identified as requiring intervention from a therapy support worker.

Working within the agreed scope of practice, you will identify rehabilitation goals with people, monitor and evaluate people's progress, and communicate regularly with the Reablement service. Interventions will include: functional practice, mobility and transfer assessment and practice, provision of home exercise programmes, activities to improve strength and balance, stairs practice, outdoor mobility, prescription of mobility aids and low-level equipment.

You will be supported to record and evidence the intervention provided and outcomes achieved.

You will have support from the whole OT team, including monthly supervision, daily drop in sessions, team meetings, huddles, professional development group, peer supervision, and a wide range of training opportunities.

About you

Successful candidates will have experience in working in a rehabilitation or reablement/enablement setting, excellent communication skills, and experience of working effectively as part of a team.

You will be required to travel across the county and will need access to a vehicle.

We have office bases across Cambridgeshire and the post holders work base may be negotiable dependant on the needs of the service.
