Job summary

Jupiter Recruitment is seeking a committed Registered Children's Home Manager to lead a brand new centre in central Birmingham, West Midlands. The role covers pre-registration through to full commissioning with a therapy-based care model and requires strong Ofsted and regulatory knowledge.

You will oversee care delivery, inspections, policy compliance, SCR maintenance, and staff induction. A Level 5 Diploma or equivalent is required, with a competitive salary and substantial CPD support.

Qualifications

• Experience as a registered manager in children's residential care.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory/management role within children's services.
• Experience opening or re-registering a new home.
• Strong Ofsted track record and compliance knowledge.
• Knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted Quality Standards.
• Level 5 Diploma or enrolment with completion within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day care, supervision, and quality assurance across all Ofsted Quality Standards.
• Prepare for and lead interim and full inspections; drive continuous improvement.
• Demonstrate lived knowledge of policies, staffing model, and quality standards.
• Address any conditions or minor works identified by Ofsted promptly.
• Maintain the SCR for all staff and key persons.
• Deliver induction and training: safeguarding, trauma-informed care, behaviour support, first aid.
• Oversee premises fit-out, fire safety, and room-by-room compliance against the Statement of Purpose.
• Procure furniture, equipment, medication storage, and Ofsted-ready IT/records systems.
