Job description

Service Care Solutions is recruiting for a Psychological Therapist for our established client, a UK charity supporting vulnerable children and young people for over 150 years. The successful candidate will work across multiple Children's Homes, the community, and supported accommodations, providing therapeutic guidance to children aged 7-25 years. The position offers flexible working options, including hybrid and remote work, with necessary travel throughout Wolverhampton and within the community.

Psychological Therapist

Pay Rate: £37,500 - £40,000 DOE per annum + £250 SCS Bonus
Location: Wolverhampton
Working Hours: Flexible | 37.5 hours per week | Hybrid role with community travel
Contract: 12-month fixed-term (with likelihood of extension)

Job Responsibilities

1. Facilitate Reflective Practice for residential staff to support therapeutically informed practice, staff resilience, and emotional wellbeing.
2. Provide direct support to Looked After Children and Care Leavers to improve emotional health and wellbeing, including additional support as needed by statutory services.
3. Collaborate with children, residential carers, and social workers in cases where care arrangements are at risk of breaking down.
4. Offer consultative support and training to foster carers and residential staff, especially for children with complex needs.
5. Contribute to the development of the UK Therapeutic Service to meet the needs of staff and young people across the organisation.
6. Hold a degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Therapy).
7. Have at least three years of experience working directly with vulnerable children, young people, and families.
8. Experience in managing crisis situations and working with emergency services.
9. Willingness to work outside normal office hours as required.
