An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Residential Care Worker to support young individuals in a secure children's home. This role involves working with young people aged 10-17 who face emotional and behavioral challenges, providing them with the care and guidance they need to thrive. You will engage in their education and vocational training while ensuring their safety and well-being in a secure environment. If you possess emotional and physical resilience and have experience in care or related fields, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of vulnerable young people.
Do you have experience working with young people in care or in the justice system? Are you interested in working with traumatised backgrounds? Are you emotionally and physically resilient?
If you have answered yes to any of the above, then please get in touch as we have an opportunity available with the local authority to work in one of their secure children's homes as a Residential Care Worker.
The unit is a secure children's home which offers care and support to young people aged 10-17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties who have been granted a secure accommodation order by the courts.
The young people we care for are often in crisis and require intensive support, intervention, and physical intervention as a last resort, while working on their education and training in vocational skills and life skills.
The young people can present physically threatening behaviour, and the environment can become tense and anxiety provoking, so for everybody's safety, surveillance cameras are in use in most areas of the building.
