Job summary

Derbyshire County Council is seeking a Residential Childrens Worker to join Hillview Children’s Home in Chinley, delivering 24-hour care and support for up to four Derbyshire children aged 8–18. The role requires commitment to trauma-informed, person-centred practice and adherence to Children’s Homes (England) regulations 2015.

You will work as part of a small team, with sleep-in duties and shift patterns (earlies, lates and sleep-ins).

Qualifications

• Understanding of the Children and Young People’s Workforce Diploma requirements.
• Knowledge of the Children’s Homes (England) regulations 2015.
• Ability to relate to and support children and young people therapeutically.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care, guidance, and support for children aged 8–18.
• Work as part of a small team delivering education and social support.
• Adapt to shift patterns including early, late and sleep-in duties.
