Job summary

Family Care Group is seeking a dedicated Residential Childcare Worker to support children and young people with learning disabilities in Formby. You will work within a therapeutic model, delivering daily care, emotional support, and personalised engagement alongside in-house therapists.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or adults with learning disabilities.
• Empathetic, patient, and positive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A calm and proactive approach to challenges.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with learning disabilities in their everyday routines.
• Promote independence and participation in household and community activities.
• Help manage personal care needs with dignity and respect.
• Build trusting relationships and provide emotional support.
• Follow individual care plans and contribute to development.
• Work as part of a professional care team, including sleep-in and weekend shifts.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records.

Education

NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare

Empathetic, patient and positive attitude

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Full UK driving licence
