Job Summary

The Radiotherapy service is based at St Bartholomew's Hospital, a leading, internationally renowned teaching hospital situated within the City of London. The department offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic organisation using and developing the latest techniques and technologies.

The Radiotherapy service is based at St Bartholomew's Hospital, a leading, internationally renowned teaching hospital situated within the City of London. The department offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic organisation using and developing the latest techniques and technologies.

Treatment equipment comprises five Varian TrueBeam linacs (2 with 6DoF couch), XStrahl orthovoltage unit and Bravos HDR on the ARIA network complete the equipment portfolio.

Pre-treatment imaging is provided with a Siemens Somatom Confidence CT and planning with Varian Eclipse treatment planning system. Techniques include virtual simulation and delivery of simple and complex conformal treatments. IMRT, IGRT, TBI, DIBH and gynaecological brachytherapy are currently offered as routine as well as stereotactic radiosurgery, SABR and ART.

Applications are invited for Band 5 Therapeutic Radiographers to be part of the Barts team and is a rotational post covering all areas of the departments including pre-treatment, treatment units and brachytherapy working in pre-treatment imaging as well as treatment delivery.

We would also be interested in hearing from undergraduate students who are due to quality in Summer 2025

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to play a key role in the delivery of an exceptional service within the Radiotherapy Department for common cancers and specialist treatments including cranial and extra-cranial stereotactic and total body irradiation. The post holder will be part of the team of Therapeutic Radiographers providing care for patients, ensuring the provision of a high quality, patient-focussed service.The post holder will deliver radiotherapy treatments on complex and state of the art equipment along with colleagues and members of the multi-disciplinary team.The post holder will be an operator as defined by IR(ME)R and will be expected to comply fully with the accredited Radiotherapy Department Quality System and the HCPC Radiographers Professional Code of Conduct.
