Job summary

Inspire Tutoring is seeking a calm, patient Primary Tutor to support a seven-year-old Year 3 learner who struggles to access school due to anxiety and trauma. The role is 15 hours per week, mornings, on a temporary tuition placement, with sessions in community or one-to-one settings and a requirement to travel to a rural location near Ely, Cambridgeshire.

Experience with SEND, trauma-informed practice, and strong English/Math teaching at differentiated levels is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching primary-aged learners with SEND, anxiety, trauma-related needs.
• Trauma-informed, therapeutic and relationship-based practice.
• Ability to manage behaviours safely and effectively.
• Ability to deliver engaging English and mathematics at differentiated levels.
• Patient, flexible and non-confrontational approach.
• Strong communication, record-keeping and professional-boundary skills.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Reliable travel to a rural location near Ely, Cambridgeshire.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver 15 hours of personalised tuition across weekday mornings.
• Create therapeutic, low-demand learning opportunities using the learner's interests.
• Support progress in core subjects while prioritising emotional safety and engagement.
• Recognise signs of anxiety or dysregulation and respond with de-escalation and co-regulation.
• Complete session records and provide concise progress updates.
• Collaborate with family, the education setting, the local authority and other professionals.
• Contribute to a gradual reintegration plan when the learner is ready.
• Follow safeguarding, risk assessment and lone-working procedures.
• Commute to a rural location near Ely, Cambridgeshire.
