Up to 10 hours per week | Monday to Friday | Start as soon as possible
We are seeking a patient, adaptable and relationship-focused SEN Teacher to provide personalised, curriculum-based tuition for a Year 4 learner in St Ives, Cambridgeshire. The learner is currently unable to attend school because of significant anxiety and requires a calm, consistent educational approach that works alongside his existing outdoor alternative provision.
The learner has a confirmed diagnosis of Tourette's syndrome. He is awaiting assessment for autism and ADHD and experiences severe anxiety, frequent tics, speech blocking, fatigue, communication difficulties and challenges with emotional regulation. The successful SEN Teacher will gradually build trust and deliver learning in a way that protects wellbeing, restores confidence, and supports positive engagement. Initial sessions may take place at the family home before moving to a suitable community venue in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, where you will be working alongside one of Inspire EHC's Support Staff.
We are looking for a compassionate teacher who can combine strong primary teaching practice with an excellent understanding of SEND, anxiety-based school avoidance and emotionally based barriers to learning. You will be confident working one-to-one, able to establish safe professional relationships and skilled at adapting expectations without losing sight of meaningful educational progress.
Inspire EHC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check, identity and right-to-work verification, qualification checks and satisfactory references. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from suitably qualified candidates.
