Job summary

Portland Charity is seeking a Learning Support practitioner for our Nottingham campus to deliver personalised study programmes for learners aged 16-25 with complex behavioural needs.

You will work with therapists and delivery staff to provide holistic wraparound support, embedding therapeutic teaching practices and ensuring high-quality, person-centred approaches tailored to each learner. Core hours 8:45am–4:45pm, 40/52 weeks, with DBS checks and pro-rated salary based on qualifications.

Qualifications

• Level 2 (e.g. GCSEs, functional skills, NVQ or BTec) in any subject
• Level 3 qualification in Learning Support or Health and Social Care or equivalent [or willingness to work towards]
• Level 3 in Non-Abusive Psychological and Physical Intervention (NAPPI) [or willingness to work towards]

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised study programmes and support learners with complex behavioural needs
• Support individuals and groups and work with a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic wraparound support
• Embed therapeutic teaching practices with a focus on inclusive, person-centred learning
• Contribute to EHCP outcomes and learner progression through tailored interventions
