Job summary

Essex County Council in Essex is seeking a Social Worker for the Therapeutic Fostering Team. This permanent, full-time role offers £38,487.00 to £51,834.00 per annum and requires a current right to work in the UK.

You will work intensively with foster carers, applying trauma-informed models, managing a defined caseload and collaborating with Clinical Psychologists and other teams across the county. Travel across Essex is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent.
• Registration with the Social Work England as registered Social Worker.
• Demonstrable capability of practice in accordance with PCF/KSS.
• Case recording.
• Demonstrate ability in applying SW knowledge with emotional intelligence.
• Understand trauma-informed practice in work with children and families.
• Good IT skills and use of SW case recording systems.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, review and provide support to a child, family or carer with complex needs, following legal frameworks and guidance.
• Work collaboratively with other professionals to help children and families improve and gain control.
• Promote autonomy and development for individuals with complex social needs.
• Maintain up-to-date records and participate in planning and decision-making forums.
• Act as Practice Educator for social work students or Assessor for Newly Qualified Social Workers.
• Hold a caseload with complex needs and provide guidance and expert advice as required.
