Job description

Are you a compassionate and energetic individual looking to develop your healthcare career in a supportive and skilled theatre environment? At The McIndoe Centre, we’re looking for a Theatre Healthcare Assistant who’s passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and thrives as part of a dedicated and high-performing clinical team.

As a Healthcare Assistant in Theatres, you will work as part of a close-knit, highly skilled clinical team to provide outstanding patient care within the theatre department. Under the supervision of registered Theatre Practitioners, you will play a crucial role in supporting clinical procedures, maintaining hygiene and safety, and ensuring an efficient and seamless service is delivered. Your empathetic nature and professional attitude will help ensure a high standard of care is consistently provided to patients.

About You:

  • Experience in a healthcare setting – ideally within an acute or surgical hospital environment.
  • NVQ Level 1/2/3 in Health & Social Care (desirable but not essential).
  • A smart, presentable appearance and professional attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Proactive, flexible, and adaptable with a passion for learning.
  • A commitment to high standards, patient dignity, and teamwork.
  • Previous experience in an operating theatre setting.
  • Knowledge of theatre hygiene and infection control best practices.

Location: The McIndoe Centre, East Grinstead
Contract Type: Permanent
Work Pattern: 4 days per week, 9.5 hours per day, on call required & weekend work optional
Salary: from £23,809.50 per annum (experience dependent)
