Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated team member to provide high-quality personalised care across the peri-operative journey, supporting patients before, during and after surgery in line with local and national standards.

You will assist with patient positioning, handling specimens, maintaining safety and hygiene, and documenting information promptly, contributing to a safe, respectful and efficient theatre environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable numeracy and literacy skills as described.
• Basic general education demonstrated by the essential criteria.
• Desirable Level 2 QCF/NVQ2 in healthcare or equivalent.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above or functional skills levels.
• Care certificate or clinical skills certificates are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide good quality personalised care throughout peri-operative journey.
• Assist in positioning patients in theatre to protect pressure areas and comfort.
• Handle and store patient specimens safely per Trust policy.
• Assist to maintain patient safety, comply with health and safety policies.
• Proactively engage in the Trust safety agenda.
• Contribute to a safe, clean, productive care environment and hygiene standards.
• Communicate and document information in a timely and appropriate manner.
