Job summary

WWL (Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) is offering an apprentice Theatre Assistant role as part of the Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support (Perioperative). The two-year, band 2 apprenticeship combines work in theatres with college-based study, requiring Maths/English at Level 1 or GCSE and a science grade C/4.

Internal candidates may require secondment approval. You will learn to support perioperative teams, participate in patient care, and complete the 20%

Qualifications

• Maths and English Functional Skills Level 1 or GCSE are mandatory.
• Evidence of Maths and English qualifications must be provided at interview.
• Science grade C/4 or equivalent is required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and complete the Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support (Perioperative), while working within operating theatres.
• Support registered nurses and ODPs to deliver safe perioperative care.
• Complete 20% off-the-job training as part of the apprenticeship program.
• Upon completion, apply for a permanent Theatre Assistant position within the Trust.
