The Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh NHS Foundation Trust is offering a Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support (Perioperative) Apprenticeship. The role involves working within operating theatres and care environments, with formal study at Wigan & Leigh College and two years on a fixed-term Band 2 contract.

Successful candidates will learn to support registered nurses and theatre staff, with the potential to secure a permanent Theatre Assistant role on completion, subject to funding and service needs.

Formación

• Functional Skills Level 1 Maths or GCSE in Maths required.
• Functional Skills Level 1 English or GCSE in English required.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and be proactive in a healthcare setting.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in transport and disposal of clinical and sterile waste.
• Assist with preparation, identification and dispatch of theatre specimens.
• Support stock management and safe handling of clinical supplies and equipment.
• Contribute to safeguarding patient dignity and confidentiality during the perioperative process.
