This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Theatre Practitioner to join our motivated and dynamic team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading.
Our hospital is part of the NHS Foundation Trust, rated Good by CQC and considered one of the best hospitals to work in the UK, ranked 6th nationally.
Our Obstetrics and Gynaecology Theatre unit comprises two obstetric and two gynaecology theatres within a busy twenty-operating-theatres department. We focus on delivering excellent patient experience and quality of care with patient safety as a priority.
We seek enthusiastic team members eager to learn and develop. While the position is based in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, there are opportunities to work across other specialties such as urology and plastics.
The successful candidate will demonstrate high standards of practice, with excellent communication, clinical, and decision-making skills.

Applications are welcome from NMC registered nurses or HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioners (ODP).
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Theatre Practitioners who aspire to learn and develop as part of our inspirational team. Full support and training will be provided, regardless of specific specialty experience.
Although roles are based in specific departments, there are opportunities to work across different specialties.
Successful candidates will uphold high standards of practice, with excellent communication, clinical, and decision-making skills.
You should be able to translate the trust's vision of high-quality care and excellent patient experience into actionable practice.

To contribute to the effective day-to-day operation of the Trust's theatres by providing skilled assistance to medical staff during the administration, maintenance, and termination of general, regional, or local anaesthetics, undertaking scrubbing and circulating duties, and providing skilled care in recovery.
