Job summary

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is inviting applications for a Band 5 Scrub Practitioner in the Main Theatres. We welcome experienced scrub practitioners or those new to theatres who want to learn and develop new skills.

An orientation across areas will be provided and the post supports professional development within a safe, supportive environment. The Trust operates Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital, offering a wide range of services.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care in line with Trust values.
• Assist team coordination of clinical activities in the main theatres.
• Utilise clinical standards to monitor quality of care and ensure nursing practice meets Trust and CQC standards.
• Supply and/or administer medications safely in line with Trust medicines policy.
• Support patients with understanding and adherence to their medications and promote health.
• Educate patients and relatives to support care and informed decision making.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate care and take timely action when required.
• Maintain high professional and ethical standards, ensuring medico-legal compliance and documentation.
