The NHS has an exciting opportunity for a Scrub Practitioner at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, focusing on delivering patient-centred care in a high-paced theatre environment. An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join a highly motivated multidisciplinary team delivering patient centred care, with emphasis on quality and patient safety. You will specialise in the scrub practitioner role in our busy theatre unit. Our theatre team is committed to ensuring that staff are trained to meet the demands of their role through a competency based training programme. We have a dedicated Training and Development Officer. We offer a personalised induction programme, supernumerary status for a minimum of three months and clinical courses to help you reach your potential. You will be enthusiastic, motivated and willing to learn a wide range of skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required along with the ability to work as part of a team.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a willingness and capability to learn new skills. A minimum of three months experience in theatre practice is desirable.

We have 8 cardiac/thoracic theatres, a pacing theatre, endoscopy room and a recovery unit and a fantastic team of theatre nurses and ODP's. We are incredibly busy following the Covid-19 pandemic with both elective and emergency pathways and cover various specialities including Cardiac, Thoracic, Aortic, Vascular, ACHD, etc.

We provide specialist services in cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology, respiratory medicine both in the hospital and out in the community.
