Job summary

Theatre Practitioner - Scrub at The Christie Private Care in Manchester is a full-time role, 37.5 hours, across four days per week with shifts from 7.30am to 8.00pm. You will scrub across urology, gynaecology, general surgery and plastics, with opportunities to circulate and support the theatre team.

The role requires NMC/HCPC registration and prior scrub experience. Join a leading private cancer centre known for outstanding patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Scrub regularly across a range of specialities including urology, gynaecology, general surgery and plastics.
  • Act as a circulating practitioner when required, supporting the wider theatre team.
  • Maintain theatre cleanliness, equipment readiness and stock control.
  • Support patient preparation, transfer and positioning in line with clinical guidance.
  • Contribute to a safe, efficient and well-organised theatre environment.

Theatre Practitioner - Scrub
Manchester, The Christie Private Care
Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Shifts across four days per week, Monday to Saturday, between 7.30am and 8.00pm. 9.5-hour shifts with overtime and occasional on-call availability

Our theatre teams are close-knit, collaborative and committed to delivering outstanding patient experiences, creating a supportive setting where your contribution is recognised and valued every day. As a Theatre Practitioner - Scrub in Theatres, you'll be part of a skilled multidisciplinary team supporting a varied surgical caseload across urology, gynaecology, general surgery and plastics. Working alongside experienced colleagues and leading consultants, you'll play a key role in ensuring every procedure runs safely and efficiently. From preparing theatres and maintaining surgical standards to supporting patients throughout their journey, your expertise will help deliver high-quality care in a calm and professional environment. You'll also have opportunities to broaden your experience through circulating duties, stock and equipment management and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the department. This role is best suited to someone who lives within a commutable distance of the hospital, is able to start shifts at 7.30am and can commit to working two Saturdays each month.
