Job summary

The Meriden Hospital in Coventry is seeking a Theatre Practitioner to join the Theatre team on a full-time, 37.5-hour contract. The post offers a salary up to £44,000 per year, with exact pay dependent on experience, training, and qualifications.

The role requires registration with NMC or HCPC and theatre experience across scrub, anesthesia, or recovery. Responsibilities include assisting the surgical team, maintaining sterility, supporting the Anaesthetist, and providing perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse or ODP with theatre experience.
• Infection control and patient safety principles.
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments and maintain sterility for surgeries.
• Support the anaesthetist with equipment prep and monitoring.
• Provide post-operative care and assist with discharge readiness.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient needs.
• Report faults and maintain equipment safety in the theatre.
