Job summary

Circle Health Group is seeking a Theatre Practitioner - Anaesthetics and Recovery at The Meriden Hospital in Coventry. This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, with a flexible shift pattern. Salary up to £40,000 per year depending on experience.

You will support the surgical team with instrument preparation, patient monitoring and post-operative care, while adhering to infection control and safety standards. Registration with NMC or HCPC is required, with experience in theatre settings.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or HCPC registered Medic/OPD Practitioner.
• Experience or training in a theatre environment (scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery).
• Understanding of infection control, manual handling and patient safety principles.
• Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve and adapt to changes in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safe surgical practice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments and maintain sterility; support anaesthetist with equipment prep and patient monitoring; provide post-operative care.
• Adhere to infection prevention and control policies at all times.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient requirements.
• Check surgical and anaesthetic equipment before use and report faults.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe surgical lists.
• Support a positive, respectful theatre environment.
