Job summary

Circle Health Group’s Meriden Hospital in Coventry seeks a Theatre Practitioner to join the theatre team. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with a flexible shift pattern and a salary up to £44,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities include instrument preparation, maintaining sterility, assisting the anaesthetist, and ensuring patient safety and readiness for discharge. A supportive multidisciplinary environment offers extensive training and benefits.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
• Theatre experience in scrub, anaesthetics or recovery preferred.
• Strong infection control, manual handling and patient safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments and maintain sterility for surgical teams.
• Assist anaesthetist with equipment, patient monitoring and positioning.
• Set up theatres according to surgery type and patient requirements.
• Check surgical and anaesthetic equipment prior to use and report faults.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient lists.
• Promote a positive, respectful theatre environment.
