Job summary

Circle Health Group's Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford is seeking a Theatre Practitioner to join the Theatre department. This full-time, permanent role offers 37.5 hours per week with a salary of up to £42,000 per year.

You will assist the surgical team, prepare instruments, maintain sterility, support anaesthetics and recovery, and uphold infection control standards while delivering high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Registration with NMC or HCPC and eligibility to practise in the UK.
• Experience in a theatre environment, scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery.
• Solid understanding of infection control and patient safety principles.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments and maintain sterility; anticipate surgeon needs and ensure equipment safety.
• Support the anaesthetist with equipment prep, patient monitoring, airway management and positioning; assist postoperative care.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient requirements.
• Check all surgical and anaesthetic equipment prior to use and report faults.
• Work with the MDT to ensure safe and efficient theatre lists; contribute to a positive theatre environment.
