Job summary

Circle Health Group in London is seeking a Theatre Practitioner – Anaesthetics and Recovery at Bishops Wood Hospital (Middlesex). The full‑time, 37.5‑hour-per-week permanent role offers a salary up to £39,000 depending on experience, training and qualification.

You will assist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility, supporting the anaesthetist with monitoring and airway management, and providing post‑operative care while upholding infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or HCPC-ODP eligible.
• Theatre environment experience in scrub, anaesthetics or recovery preferred.
• Infection control, manual handling and patient safety principles.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changes in a fast-paced theatre.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team by preparing instruments and maintaining sterility.
• Support anaesthetist with equipment preparation, patient monitoring, airway management, and positioning.
• Provide post-operative care and monitor vitals, pain and nausea; readiness for discharge.
• Adhere to infection prevention policies at all times.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient needs.
• Check equipment prior to use and report faults.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient lists.
