Job description

Join to apply for the Theatre Practitioner/ODP role at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Are you an ODP or Anaesthetic Nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality care and an appreciation for the sea, countryside, and fresh air? This could be the perfect job for you!

We are seeking ODPs or Anaesthetic Nurses to join our teams in Scarborough and Bridlington. Our facilities include eight theatres across two sites, covering specialties such as general surgery, urology, gynaecology, ENT, Max Fax, ophthalmology, obstetrics, elective orthopaedics, and trauma.

We have established day surgery wards on both sites and an excellent elective orthopaedic ward, enabling some of the best same-day discharge rates for joint replacements nationally.

Our services include a 24-hour emergency theatre, and we are actively involved in cardiac arrest teams, trauma teams, and paediatric emergency teams, ensuring dynamic and varied workdays.

Daily responsibilities involve utilizing your anaesthetic skills to support peri-operative patient needs and assisting emergency response teams with airway management for deteriorating patients. Evidence of training in these roles is essential.

Whether you are newly qualified or experienced, we want to hear from you! We offer a diverse work environment and are located minutes from beautiful beaches, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

  • Maintain high standards of patient-focused care in accordance with Trust policies and procedures

  • Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct
  • Perform duties across different wards/departments as required by service demands
  • Comply with infection control policies and procedures

Our benefits include:

  • Access to the NHS Pension Scheme with generous retirement benefits, including a lump sum and pension for dependants
  • 27 days holiday, increasing to 33 days depending on NHS service
